Internet Marketing Sales & Income May 2009

Many people are interested in working from home, and Internet Marketing seems to be ideal for this. However it is hard to get information on exactly how much is earned. There are loads of sites telling you how much you CAN earn, (often promising £ thousands or even £ millions), but none telling you exactly how much IS earned.  This site will!

I intend to publish a Monthly update detailing precisely how much income I have achieved, along with Sales information. At the moment it is embarrassingly small amounts, but I will publish the exact details no matter how embarrassing. If I have earned ZERO then I will state this fact.

Marvel Comic Artists – Jim Steranko

shield

It wasn’t just the Marvel stories that captivated me as a teenager, it was also the artwork. Marvel has a very talented crop of artists but my all-time favourite is Jim Steranko.

I first came across him in Strange Tales when he started illustrating Nick Fury Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. The artwork just seemed to be on a whole different level, heavily influenced by the psychedelia movement of the sixties.

One double page spread I was particularly fascinated by comprised of 16 panels without a single word, but which still was able to move the story forward!

Replying to Blog Comments

The easiest way to reply to a blog comment is simply to fill-in the blog comment form yourself. However this does pose a couple of problems.

Firstly your own reply is counted as a comment, so the blog statistics are innaccurate having been inflated by 100%. (You would need to half the number of comments to get a true reflection of outside response).

Secondly, if you don’t reply immediately, your response could be out of sequence and confusing for readers. This would only happen on  blogs with lots of comments. Our Masterclass has a very popular blog at www.mandyallen.com and even Mandy’s high work rate has not prevented some of her replies inevitably being posted out of sequence.

Why Does the Moon Look Bigger? – Part (2)

hunters-moon
To understand this, have a look at the diagram below, the orange circles are exactly the same size. If you don’t believe me get a ruler and measure them! This is the Ebbinghaus Illusion.

When large blue circles surround the orange circle it appears smaller, and when small blue circles are surrounding it the orange circle seems bigger. The orange circle remains exactly the same size but it looks bigger and smaller depending upon its relationship to nearby objects.

Why Does the Moon Look Bigger? – Part (1)

full_moon

I am a keen sky-watcher but sometimes I just have to gaze in awe at the moon – it looks absolutely massive!  This usually happens when it is low on the horizon. Obviously the moon hasn’t suddenly changed size, it’s still 3,476km in diameter. So perhaps it has moved nearer to Earth?

The moon’s orbit around Earth is elliptical and at it’s closest point (the perigee) it’s 363,104km away. At the moons furthest point (the apogee) it’s 405,696km away – a difference of 42,592km distance. Not surprisingly this does lead to a difference in observable apparent size.

Marvel Comics – My Muse

The Silver Surfer by John Buscema
The Silver Surfer (Oil on Canvas)

Most male artists have a beautiful woman as their inspiration, but my muse was Marvel Comics and especially the Silver Surfer. In my teenage years when I wasn’t planning to be the next Lennon & McCartney, I decided to become a great artist. I hadn’t a clue how to paint, but I went to my local artists shop and got myself an easel, some oil paints and brushes.

Window on the Universe being Repaired

Yesterday the Space Shuttle Atlantis successfully took off on a mission to repair the Hubble telescope, in orbit 380 miles above Earth. This is the fifth repair and upgrade mission NASA has undertaken since Hubble’s launch in 1990.

Hubble has cost £7 billion so far and NASA hopes that this final mission will enable it to be fully operational for another 5 years when a replacement should be in orbit.

The Hubble telescope has not only expanded our knowledge of the universe, it has produced some of the most beautiful and awe inspiring images ever witnessed by mankind.

How to Plan to Lose Weight

I always advise anyone who wants to train for a marathon to keep a diary and log how many miles they run each day. There is no way you can properly run a marathon without a training plan, and it is difficult to keep track of your training without a simple written record.

Athletes who don’t keep a diary always think they are running more miles than they actually are. Unfortunately you may be able to convince yourself you are training hard enough, but a marathon race will expose the flaw in your thinking.

How to Write a Blog Post Every Day

Don’t write extremely long posts, you may lose readers, and you are wasting effort. If you have a lot to say, split the article into 2 or 3 different posts, each with it’s own title. Ideally each post should be around 200 to 300 words.

Write about anything that interests you, it will be easier and more enjoyable finding the words. It’s amazing how many products you can link to diverse subjects. It’s as easy as A,B,C. I have written about Astronomy, Beer and Comics and have had no problem finding  product links to monetise each post.

Stop Thinking Like a Motorist

As a regular runner, walker and cyclist, the last place I want to be is on a busy road. Preferably I don’t want to be on a road at all. Why be on a noisy, dirty, busy road, when you could be in the beautiful countryside? Beats me, but the mistake a lot of people make when they try and exercise, is that they automatically think of routes by road.
