How to Impress your Book Club

Silver SurferI read quite a lot, but the majority of  it has been Marvel Comics and Science Fiction books. :-) When I first joined my book club, (which is mainly populated by female teachers), I didn’t think they would like such a ‘boys only’ genre, so I picked other books for the group to read.

My first choice was I thought fairly ‘safe’. “One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest” by Ken Kesey. This was also a great film with Jack Nicholson. The book however gives terrifying descriptions of probably the most evil monster in fiction: Nurse Ratched.

Using Resell Rights Products

You already know that using resell rights products and private label content are good ways to make money online. But if you’re like me, you probably have a pile of these products gathering virtual dust on your hard drive.

They made nice tax deductions when you bought them, but they haven’t done a thing for you since.

It’s time to get that content working and making money for you!  There are dozens of ways to use your resell rights and private label rights content for fun and profit.

Can you Play an Instrument?

Just william“Can you play an Instrument”?… The first question asked by our music master,  at my first class, in my first year at the “big school” (where at 11 years of age I had to wear long trousers).

With enthusiasm my hand shot up. “What can you play”? He asked, “The Banjo, Sir” ….He looked surprised…”That’s unusual, OK stand at the front of the class with the other boys.”

#1 on Google by Accident!

When I typed my name into Google 7 years ago, I was happy to see that I was on the first page, mainly because the Running Club I belonged to had a website.google-logo

In the last few years however I had been relegated to about 95th position on page 10. I had accepted this fate because there were loads of John McNallys who had been Olympic Medalists, Boxers, War Heroes or even a Bass Guitarist with the Searchers pop group.

I was bored recently so I put my name into Google again, and was absolutely amazed to see my name at #1 position! This was out of a worldwide search of 674,000 possible entries!!

3 TIPS for Making Money out of Private Label Rights

PLR-Videos1) Load Articles into an Auto responder

You need to load up an auto responder series as a way to automatically build a relationship with your readers. PLR articles make this task easy.

While you should load at least 7 to 12 articles in your series, you can also put your business on autopilot by loading 52 articles into the series – one per week. That’s a full year’s worth of content that you can use to build a relationship, help you close sales, and so on.

Do note however that you should use “evergreen” content. In other words, use content that’s always relevant and timeless.

How to be #1 on Google

The single most powerful SEO technique is to have your targeted keywords in your domain name.

I offer Personal Training for people who want to lose weight, get fitter or train for road races from 5k to a marathon.

When someone wants to find a  personal trainer, they would naturally put those words into Google.  However the search comes up with national companies. The thing about personal training is that it’s PERSONAL, it can only be offered one-to-one, on a local basis.

WordPress Image Upload Error

wordpressI have recently changed my web hosting company which involved paying $35 to have the WordPress blog data transferred.

Everything seemed fine until I tried to upload a photo…….Nothing happened apart from this message:

“Unable to create directory /home/xxxyoursitexxx/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2010/03. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

There are many complicated solutions for this, involving php,  the MySQL database, and permission settings.

Wordpress-Image-Upload-ErrorSome of them I have tried, but they didn’t work for me. In the end the simplest solution was the best….Here it is:

1)
Go to your WordPress Dashboard (via domain name.com/wp-admin).

Discovering the Beatles

the-beatles-white-album-inside-coverI was a young teenager during the 1960′s and one of the first questions posed in the school playground was; “Do you like the Beatles or Rolling Stones?” Being independent minded I always replied “Neither, I like the Kinks”.

In 1968 I bought my first album and it was Pink Floyd’s ‘Piper at the Gates of Dawn’. I played this very loud, much to the annoyance of my brother who was an Elvis fan. The next year however I “discovered” the Beatles.

UK Night Sky MARCH 2010

For planet hunters Venus is easy to spot, It’s the brightest object in the night sky after the Moon. Just look towards the south west after sunset and the most prominent star you can see is not a star at all, It’s our nearest planetary neighbour, Venus.

Higher in the sky, dominating the constellation of Cancer is a bright star with a red hue. You are looking at the next nearest planet to us, Mars. Known in MARSthe past as the God of War due to it’s connotations with blood. Mars is larger than Venus, but it is further away from the Sun, and is not therefore quite as bright as Venus.
