Last week I advised posting every 2 days to increase your traffic volumes. This week I want to give tips on how you can achieve this. What on earth can you write about regularly every 2 days?

The first tip is obvious, but I see this obvious point missed by many, many bloggers. Without following this advice your blog will end up sterile, uninteresting to you and your readers, and consequently will probably wither away and die.

Only write about what interests you. If you’re not interested in the subject, it will be reflected in your writing, and consequently blog readers will become bored. Conversely if you’re passionate about something, your blog posts will be energetic and interesting thereby keeping readers. 

Traffic is the lifeblood of blogs. Without sufficient visitors blogs eventually wither and die. If you want to have an income from your blog you need high volumes of traffic.

Every week I intend to reveal at least one tactic, trick or tip for increasing your blog traffic.

#1) Post Every 2 Days Bloggers can no longer get away with weekly or monthly posts. The Internet is far too competitive for that relaxed attitude to survive. Daily posts would be great, but too much of a burden. The optimum number is between 3 and 5 posts weekly. So committing yourself to a post every 2 days will produce 3 or 4 posts every week. A good routine to get into.  

According to Douglas Adams in the Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, the answer to the ultimate question is …….42!

The best place to start searching for online trading tools is eBay’s own site. This is where it gathers third-party software that can help with everything from uploading high-resolution photos to working out what postage to charge. Most are rated by fellow users.

Setting up an eBay listing is long-winded. If you’ve got lots to sell, Supreme Auction aims partly to automate the process. It’s free tools will help with everything from listings design to keeping track of multiple auctions.

Surprisingly one of the most nutritious foods that you can eat while on a diet is the humble baked bean. They are rich in fibre, a great source of protein, and very cheap.

I have just completed a painting of the Simpsons walking along Abbey Road zebra crossing ala the famous Beatles album cover.

           I started this last year and then got diverted onto other projects.   Now my project is to finish off all the half-completed paintings I have hanging around.

Any Beatle fan will immediately recognise this image. Homer Simpson is John Lennon, Marge Simpson is Ringo Starr, Bart Simpson is Paul McCartney and Lisa Simpson is George Harrison.

According to Alexa statistics, the top 1% of blogs for traffic have a rating of sub 80,000.

Since installing the Alexa toolbar, my rating has been been moving steadily downwards, but I have noticed the rate of improvement is levelling out. I decided to write this post, in case it goes into reverse!

This blog has just dipped under 400,000 for the first time. However Alexa takes a 3 month average of traffic, and during the last 3 months there was a huge boost to traffic created by Jacinta Dean’s 100 Comment Challenge.
