Eat More Often and Lose Weight
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and one of the reasons is that the act of eating and digesting food raises the metabolic rate. So eating will burn more calories than starving! Once you accept this concept then you will realise that the traditional three square meals a day may not be enough.
Some people take this to it’s logical conclusion and advocate ‘grazing’, eating little and often all day long. However research has shown that the optimum number of meals is 6. This does not require any radical changes. Simply stick to your current 3 meals a day, making sure each meal is healthy – no junk! Then have healthy snacks at 11am, 3pm and 9pm.
Because you are now eating regularly, you will not feel the urge to binge due to hunger pangs. Your metabolic rate is constantly being boosted by digesting the meals, so you will burn more calories during the day. Your body will get used to the regular intake of fuel and have no need to store energy supplies in the form of fat.
Sounds great doesn’t it? – here’s the hard bit – No Junk! No biscuits, chocolate, crisps, pastry, cake, sweets etcetera….anything that comes in a colourful wrapper is bad news. Sorry, but you do want to lose weight don’t you?

Hello Svenja,Thanks for your comment. I was glad to find out that
what I had written wasn't complete rubbish :O)

PS. I checked the P.A.C.E website but didn't join. I
presume it's a mixture of exercise and healthy eating?

Hi John,
I do wish I could eat breakfast! I do know that it is the most important meal of the day, I just can’t face it…
Enjoy the journey.

I have another friend just like you Mandy. He doesn't eat breakfast, grabs snacks during the day when he is working, then he is starving at night and he eats loads of fast food to satisfy his hunger. Bill exercises regularly playing Squash, but because of his bad eating habits he is overweight. The best eating advice for keeping a healthy weight is: Breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince, Dine like a Pauper.John

It’s how we start our day, right? Starting with a good healthy breakfast every morning can promote better performance throughout the day. Also skipping meals is pretty bad since we lose more energy and get to do less work in the process. That is why I don’t, almost ever skip a meal. If I don’t feel like eating my regular meal then I at least take a small meal maybe a banana or a small sandwich, just to give my body something to digest on.

You are doing all the right things Kevin, hopefully your weight reflects this. I also have a banana if I’m not hungry enough for a full breakfast and my weight is stable.
