Orange Wednesday

orange-weds-ticketsI go to the cinema regularly and one of the few adverts I enjoy are the series for Orange Wednesday. They involve famous actors/actresses being interviewed for a film role. The actors are always deadly serious and want high-profile Oscar winning roles.

The Interviewers are only interested in getting the word ‘Orange’ and ‘mobile phones’ into the script as often as possible, no matter how inappropriate or even historically inaccurate to the film. The advert usually ends with the actor storming out of the interview room. They are funny adverts.

I haven’t got an Orange mobile phone, so I ignored the message. However like all good adverts the message must have sunk in, and one day I looked at the Orange website. HOORAY! Orange Wednesday applies to ANY Orange customer, and I have my broadband connection with them.

What is Orange Wednesday?
It’s a special offer where you can get 2 cinema tickets for the price of 1 EVERY Wednesday! All you have to do is text the word ‘FILM’ to

80241 for Broadband customers,
241 for Mobile phone customers,

and you get a reply back immediately with a code number. You give this number to the cinema when buying the ticket. This offer only applies to SHOWCASE CINEMAS.

Orange Wednesday 2 for 1

I think you pay around 20p for the text. I went to the Coventry Showcase last Wednesday and all it cost me was £7 for 2 tickets. I saw one of the best films I have seen for a long time, I had a broad smile on my face the whole way through, it was ‘The Fantastic Mister Fox’ and I will write another post review.

Hope you have a Showcase Cinema near you. If you have, why not make Wednesday a regular cinema date?
