Paul McCartney is Dead – The Proof
The ‘proof’ of Paul McCartney’s death runs right through the Beatles songs and album covers. He had been replaced in the group by a look-alike double in 1965.
Rubber Soul in 1965 was the Beatles ironic joke that despite Paul’s death he had bounced back and was still recording.
Sgt Pepper is awash with death clues. The famous Peter Blake cover has a wreath of yellow flowers in the shape of a bass guitar. Paul McCartney’s double has the hand of Krishna above his head to wish Paul’s soul safe journey to heaven. Inside the gate-fold sleeve McCartney’s double is wearing an armband with the letters ‘OPD’ – Officially Pronounced Dead. On the last track of the album ‘A Day in the Life’ John Lennon laments his friends secret death…”he blew his mind out in a car”……”they’d seen his face before, nobody was really sure…”
Magical Mystery Tour has a photo of the Beatles all wearing red carnations apart from McCartney whose flower is funeral black. The song ’I am the Walrus’ was inspired by the Lewis Carroll poem where the walrus is regarded as a symbolic death figure.
Yellow Submarine again has the hand of Krishna above the cartoon version of Paul, and the album is sub-titled ‘Nothing is Real’.
The White Album has the song ‘Glass Onion’ where Lennon sings about layers of reality, and makes McCartney’s death explicit with the line; “here’s a clue for you all, the Walrus was Paul“.
Abbey Road has the infamous funeral court-age on the cover, with the 4 Beatles walking in line along a zebra crossing. John Lennon all in white is the preacher, Ringo Starr all in black is the undertaker, George Harrison all in blue denim is the grave digger, and Paul McCartney in a suit walking in bare feet (as people are buried in the East), is the corpse.
McCartney’s double is the only Beatle out of step, and he is smoking a cigarette in his right hand; – everyone knows the real Paul McCartney is left handed. The clincher however is the Volkswagon Beetle car in the background with the registration plate 28 IF……Paul McCartney would have been 28 years old IF he was still alive!
If you don’t believe me, get your old Beatle albums out – all the proof is there for you to see.

To make a correction to the myth that the armband on Paul’s arm in Sgt Pepper’s says “OPD” Officially Pronounced Dead. Being from Ontario I can confirm that this is indeed an Ontario Provincial Police emblem. Therefore the last Letter which people assume is a “D” is really a “P”. This doesn’t discredit this as a clue left by Lennon. It only alters it’s meaning from “Officially Pronounced Dead” to “replaced by an ex police officer from Ontario”, which is what people claim the replacement was before joining The Beatles.

Thanks for this inside information Craig.
I think I did read somewhere about the Ontario Police armband, but I didn’t know that McCartney’s double was supposed to have been an ex police officer. Just shows that it doesn’t really matter what clues there are, if you have a theory, you can make loads of stuff fit into it.
If you have any more Beatles stories, please call again.
