Selling Information Products on eBay
Successful eBay traders have cheap lead-in prices to attract customers and build a list. Information products are cheap to reproduce, so using resale rights books and videos can easily fulfil this role.
On the other hand you don’t want to sell quality products too cheaply, when the customer may have been willing to pay a higher price!
I have resolved this problem by splitting all my Master Resale Rights products into two versions:

1) Basic eBook or Video Course.
2) eBook or Video Course with Master Resale Rights, web-pages, artwork, sales-pages, CD covers and labels.
This system not only provides low cost, entry level goods for new customers, it also avoids devaluing the perceived quality of the whole product.
If I purchase a video course with Master Resale Rights for a low price, I often think
“What’s wrong with the video course?”
“Why does this Company offer all these extras?”
“Isn’t the Video Course good enough to sell on it’s own?”
This system also hits two different target markets;
Firstly people who actually want the information offered to use in their business or everyday life. – They would purchase the basic version. Secondly, Internet Marketers who want some quality Resell Rights Products for their portfolio. – They purchase the higher priced version.
I will sell the basic version at £2.97 and offer an upgraded version to all potential purchasers for an extra premium.
I’m not sure if eBay will let me have a ‘one time offer’ page in-between the basic version buy button and Paypal?
I will investigate this further and post the results.

Oh John, thank you so very much for linking back to my blog. I am deeply humbled by your placed trust!
This is an excellent post! You are wise to split your products into two categories. Part of the reason why some products were (and still are) cheaply sold is because they are used to really sell something else. If you ask me, following your approach fares better. If you have a good DVD with Master Resale Rights in your hand, treasure its value and sell it as such.
Many Thanks again for a great post and the bonus link

My pleasure Svenja, I get loads of great free information from your blog. My basic video product is for list building, the upgraded version is for profit....Now all I need is an eBay store :O)John[Reply]
Hi John,
Thanks for the heads up…I am thinking about opening an eBay store also selling these products. I look forward to all the information you find out…please continue to post it..;)
You’re right, Svenja’s blog has excellent information for anyone interested in eBay.
Love the colors on your blog…how did you do that?
I’ll be back,

Hello Kathy, I will write regularly about eBay, so hopefully we will arrive at the finishing post at the same time. I've forgotten how I changed the colours on my blog, but I will look into it and write a detailed post about the method. (Thanks for the idea)!JohnFor easy step by step instructions to change your blog colour background CLICK HERE.John[Reply]
Hi John, I was wondering about an ebay store. I am not quite sure whether it would save me money and some people have said they don’t get as much exposure so not sure if it’s a practical solution, even if it is a time saver.
Enjoy the journey.
Mandy
P.S. Love the post, thanks!
I'm still looking into eBay Mandy. Haven't sold a bean on it yet. I like the idea of a store, but would want total control over it. Maybe my own dedicated eBay website is the answer? I will write about my investigations here.John[Reply]
