Using a Blog to Generate Niche Ideas
Writing this blog has made me realise how much I enjoy two childhood hobbies - comics and painting. As a semi-retired adult looking for extra income, the Internet enables me to earn money from these pastimes.
Firstly I intend to sell the remaining parts of my comic collection on eBay. The beauty of selling items this way is that I have to handle each comic to photograph them for the eBay listing.
These are comics that have been stored away and ignored for 30 years or more. Now I can look at each comic, admire the artwork, remind myself of some childhood memories and even re-read some of the good stories.
Secondly I am going to pick some of my favourite comic-art images, and reproduce them with oil paints onto canvas. I last did this between the ages of 17 and 25 and really enjoyed it. Searching the Internet has made me realise that pop-art is big business.
I can capitalise on this by focusing on super-heroes such as Spider-Man, Captain America, the Silver Surfer and X-Men, offering original art-work to committed comic-collectors. There are plenty of comic web sites and forums, so the Internet enables my artwork to reach a potential worldwide market of dedicated collectors.
How to use YOUR Blog to Generate wealth-creating ideas:
The formula is simple; - Just write blog posts on whatever interests you. Keep writing posts regularly on your blog. The search engines like regular new content, so your Google page rankings will rise.
If you commit yourself to writing regular blog posts, there is no way you will be able to write about something that bores you. After a while you will realise that you are writing more and more about something that you have a passion for. Focus on that passion, and use your enthusiasm to build a business you will enjoy.
Happy blogging.

And I will be hosting your first exhibition, won’t I, John!
Enjoy the journey.

You haven't seen the pictures yet Mandy! It was your encouragement that got me started again, so I will send you photos when I have finished a few. Best wishes.John[Reply]
Hi John,
excellent pictures and great post! Comics can sell VERY well on eBay! The more rare and unique the better. Make sure you research the best times of the day/week before your post them. I found that there is a great difference on how well you can sell them. People buying comics seem to be online during certain times. I used Terapeak in the past (see also my posts on research if you like).
Unfortunately, I do not remember the best listing times (and it changes over the course of a year anyway). Last year I worked with a client who had 500 copies to sell …
Many Thanks and keep up the great work!

Thanks for this advice. I'm not too worried about the comics price, as long as they go to a good home.
JohnI have already sold the majority of my valuable comics. I only had multiple copies of first editions, and only 5 to 10 - Not 500 !! (I had to buy my comics out of my newspaper round pocket money, so limited funds). I STILL refuse to pay more than the newsagent cover price for a comic, which is why it takes 30 years for my collection to become valuable.
