What a Wonderful World
Even an economic recession has some good points – real ale at only 99 pence per pint for example. We have Wetherspoons to thank for this excellent bargain – long may they prosper. As a marketing strategy it certainly works, judging by the long queue at the bar lining up for Green King IPA. The only way to beat this price would be to brew your own real ale.
I go cycling every week with an old school friend, and the only problem now is we find it difficult to leave Wetherspoons! At least we bypass the pub in Leamington Spa and manage to cycle all of 4 miles to Lloyds Bar in Warwick. They are spoiling us there with Marstons Pedigree for 99p, and this week they offered Ruddles Best Bitter which was lovely.
After a pleasant chat, 3 pints and a read of the newspaper, we left for St. Nicholas Park where we enjoyed our sandwiches and tried to sober up a bit. Simple pleasures; – the sun was out, what a wonderful world indeed.

Hello John,
Real ale, what a find!! Never thought I liked beer, but after trying 2 pints of Ruddles I’m hooked on the real ale theme. Looking forward to trying other ales in the future :O)

Hello Margaret,A female convert - that's great! I think you would like the latest guest beer at Lloyds Bar - it's chocolate and vanilla flavour!!
Lovely and smooth; it reminds me of Christmas for some reason, and it's 5% alcohol so you know you've had one :O)
